Are You A Creative Person With Bouts of Depression?

by Nettie Hartsock on March 31, 2009

There are some very interesting questions posed on this blog about depression and writing.

James Hollis said, “Fear of our own depths is the enemy.” And William Styron (one of my favorite authors) said, “     “The good writing of any age has always been the product of someone’s neurosis.”

So glad to hear people talking about this. Today on national public radio they talked about this very issue. It’s so sad that it falls beneath the radar of so many people. Please keep giving us an avenue for commenting on such ridiculous opportunities when everything is turning to shit. I know it’s getting better, thanks to B & M Obama, but it is going to take a while. I for one am willing to be patient. I am cooking at a homeless shelter tomorrow and going in late. I don’t even care about the late part.
