It’s My Birthday and I’ll Sigh If I Want To…
Today is my birthday and with hubby and kids tucked safely in bed, here I sit doing a blog post! I’m so grateful for the clients I have and the wonderful collaborative work I get to do with them.
The web is a crazy hodge podge of amazing folks and I’m so glad to have been hanging out here for almost 14 years!
So I’ll sigh not over my age, but over the fantastic achievements of my past and present clients like Joe Camp, Alex Skolnick, Carole Carson, Lloyd Dangle, and others who constantly dream bigger and better!
And I will be thankful for my family and friends…virtual ones too that help make my journey so darn fabulous.
Also, have to thank the Texas Writers League -who had me come in last Saturday for three hours and teach a brilliant group of folks all about Web 2.0. The caliber of folks there was just inspiring!
And I don’t know where you’ll be the first weekend in November, but I will be steadfastly at the Texas Book Festival, oohing and ahhing over the tremendous and talented authors from all over the country!

I was one of the people at Nettie’s workshop at Austin Writer’s League. I’m not sure how brilliant we were, although she made it as simple as possible.
It stuck me how deep a divide there is between those who work on and in the internet and its technology and those who don’t. For a fair percent of people in the room, it was like learning Portuguese. (Most of the class was over 50.) You could see a clear difference in awareness of the terminology and concepts between those folks and the ones who were younger.
It’s a brave new world out there.
