drunkard2.jpgI cannot recommend the book, “The Drunkard’s Walk” highly enough. Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful. Here is an interview with the Wall St. Journal, with the author, Dr. Leonard Mlodinow.

Read the book!

[reading part of his newest novel at a press conference] “The crickets and the rust-beetles scuttled among the nettles of the sage thicket. “Vámonos, amigos,” he whispered, and threw the busted leather flintcraw over the loose weave of the saddlecock. And they rode on in the friscalating dusklight.”

Go See WALL-E

On June 27, 2008, in Creativity, by Nettie Hartsock

wall-e.jpgI’m still lucky enough to get movie previews from my old celebrity writing days and I got to take my son Gibson to a preview of WALL-E and cannot begin to describe what a wonderful and thoughtful film it is. It’s technology, love story and even “Hello Dolly” all rolled into one and it truly makes one more contemplative in regard to the future.

WALL-E is so filled with courage and you can’t but love him. My son laughed, cried and cheered for the little robot and his quest for EVE. (It’s always an Eve.:>)

Step away from the computer this weekend and spend time with your kids and a good movie.

Here are some cool clips from Apple.

Aha, those fickle unique worldwide visitors are now traveling to Facebook over MySpace. Will be interesting to see how this pans out in the U.S. or if it will.

Dear Candi Crowley of CNN

On June 24, 2008, in Jargon, by Nettie Hartsock

Dear Candi,

Please stop using the term “money shot” in your live reporting.

Just because jargon exists does not mean we have to incorporate all of it into our reporting to make it sound more exciting.

Sage advice from Stephen King to writers. Check it out. And then follow it!

I love his shirt. Also if you’re interested in how many people write or blog about Stephen King, which illustrates his reach on the web, do a search for “Stephen King’s blog” on Google and see what comes up! Tons of blogs all devoted to him. That could be you some day!
